“For a ship that doesn’t know its destination harbor, any wind is useless.” Yes, that’s true, but I think it’s not entirely accurate: after all, you can at least steer towards a body of water or a piece of land where you can drop anchor. In most situations I’m familiar with, silently quitting leads to a further deterioration of your condition. While it may initially feel liberating, over time there’s a risk of becoming a prisoner of your monthly income, working without purpose, direction, or joy. - You are considering resigning.

For many years, there has been a myth: companies advertise job openings as soon as they are looking for personnel. Well, they do – but only when the position cannot be filled internally, when there is no one internally who knows someone who knows someone, and when no one can be poached by a headhunter. Most good positions are not advertised. The only worse chance than searching through advertisements is for those who advertise themselves through their own ads. My story
My own professional career to date: tourism clerk, then seven exciting, strenuous, instructive, and for me really important years in the catering and hotel industry. But this also led to a professional crisis, complete with physical and mental exhaustion and the deep feeling that I wouldn’t grow old.
I just had to take a break. Lean back, let my gaze wander, find new conversations, books, thoughts. Giving chance a chance while I outlined career plans. Over the course of several months, one thing led to another. I developed more and more into my professional independence, including mistakes and problems along the way. I am especially grateful for those encounters that brought me inspiration, joy of life, serenity and clarity.
Today I no longer ask clients how their careers are going. I ask: “What’s YOUR story?” In the answer, so many more insights can be found and treasures uncovered. For successful career coaching, this will be the basis on which you create your professional future!
